Welcome to Cartune (“we”, “our”, or “us”), a CarPlay widget application developed by Vodeca. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the Cartune mobile application (the “App”).
Cartune does not require an account and does not collect names, email addresses, user IDs, or location data. App preferences are stored locally on your device. If you voluntarily use the AI-powered customization feature, the photo you select is transmitted to Google Gemini for processing after your explicit consent, as explained below. We do not sell personal data.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Cartune is designed to minimize data collection. Except for the optional AI-powered customization described in Section 3, app preferences and media information are handled locally on your device.
- No Account or Profile: We do not require an account or collect identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, location, or account credentials.
- No Tracking: We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or other cross-app tracking mechanisms to track your activity across other websites or apps.
- No Server Uploads: All configurations, customized widgets, and app preferences remain stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to any servers owned by us or third parties.
2. Device and Integration Permissions
To provide CarPlay widget functionality, Cartune requests access to certain system resources. These permissions are used exclusively to enable the app features on your device:
- CarPlay Integration: Used to display widget information, dashboards, and app interfaces directly on your vehicle's CarPlay screen.
- Media & Playing Information: Used locally to display currently playing track details, album art, or playback status on your widgets. This data is read in real-time and never saved or transmitted.
- Local Storage: Used to store your custom widget configurations, layout preferences, and app settings directly on your device.
3. Third-Party AI Services and Data Processing
Our application offers an AI-powered widget customization feature. When you choose to use this feature and upload a photo, the image is securely transmitted to and processed by Google Gemini AI services solely for the purpose of generating customized widget layouts and designs.
We care about your privacy:
- Purpose Limitation: The uploaded photos are processed exclusively to deliver the widget generation service and are not used for any other purposes.
- No Personal Identifiers: We do not share your name, email, user ID, location data, or any other personal identifiers with the third-party AI provider.
- User Control: Data transmission only occurs after you grant explicit consent within the application by tapping “Allow & Continue”. You can choose not to use this feature at any time.
Processing performed by Google Gemini is subject to Google's applicable privacy and data-processing terms.
4. Third-Party Services
When you purchase, download, or update Cartune, you do so through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect transactional information, device identifiers, or crash logs in accordance with their own privacy policies.
If you opt-in to sharing diagnostics and crash details with developers through iOS settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash logs. We use this information solely to debug issues and improve the stability of Cartune.
5. Children's Privacy
Cartune is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The optional AI-powered feature should only be used by a person able to provide valid consent under applicable law.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
